Jungle Daily - In Between Rain Showers

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

I love these stone like fungus that grow on wood here. They really are quite odd.

Reflections in raindrops will always be a favourite of mine

jumping spiders come in many colours but always seem to have this expression on their faces that kind of makes me smile.

A wet and windswept beach. The rainy season is truly here again.

These Capuchin monkeys are the least common in this part of Costa Rica. it is nice to see them on the rare occasions I do.

A female Tanager, one of the most common birds in the area. They are so pretty.

The male Blue Dacnis is one of the first to reappear in the garden after the rain stops.

The second picture is honestly the best picture I have ever seen! How can you take reflection in such a small drop of water? I would love to be as good photographer as you are!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful comment. I suppose it is the bright sunlight that creates the lens effect that captures it so well. I am always taking photos of raindrops , some workout better than others though, I will share more blissful drops so keep watching ... you just got full upvote for best comment of the day xx 😉🌈💛🌴🦋

Oh Sally, that is so kind of you! I appreciate your support so much!

Can you tell me what exposure you use to create such pictures? I would love to try it :)

I will definitely keep watching and waiting for new articles of yours!

I don’t own a Dslr so this is using my powershot SX60 HS . I am on a manual setting with a macro rather than normal lens capability. You need sunlight shining through the water drop and that causes the water to become a lens itself and it is this effect that can be captured. It is more to do with the sunlight working with the water than the camera itself. You need patience . I photograph hundreds of raindrops before I get exactly the ones I am aiming for that are good enough to share. I will post a few more that you are sure to enjoy 😉

I love the effect you added to the photo of the wind swept beach! It’s raining today at my home in Australia as well 🌧

Thanks Harry for your your nice comment. Hope you enjoy the rain, I have learned to balance camera gear under an umbrella it rains so much here 😉

This is some nice piece of photography.
Are these really stones?

They are fungi actually but look like stones. Thanks for your comment ❤️🌈🌴💛🦋

Thanks Sallybeth - excellent Jungle Daily, beautiful pics! :D

Thank you for your support, I appreciate it greatly. ❤️🌈💛🌴🦋

Unbelievably beautiful photos. I love them all, but for different reasons as each photo touches a different sense. I do agree that the reflections within the raindrops are magnificent.

You are spoiling us with these beautiful photos, Don't stop.

Thank you very much . I love to spoil you 🤣🦋🌴💛

Beautiful photos of the jungle and its owners!
I thought you found a new spices of coconut tree with fruits by the side of tree trunk.

Thanks haha yes that would be nice to find a brand new undiscovered species.... it could happen in a place like this probably 🤣🌈🦋🌴💛
