Afternoon Walk To The Pier...Lobitos, Peru

in #photography19 days ago

It is spring time here in the north of Peru, which means that it's time to start taking walks on the beach and enjoying the warmer weather. Let us get out of the house and head on up to the local pier to see what is happening.

I really like this bird made out of drift wood. Super cool if you ask me. For those of you that do not read Spanish the writing on the wall is telling people to keep the beach free of garbage. One cannot argue with that. Unfortunately garbage still enters the oceans at an alarming rate.

Looks as though the waves are getting better with the incoming tide. Lets head on down to the beach and take that walk to the pier.

We should sneak between these rocks so that we can walk on the shoreline. Let us go dip our feet in the water, and enjoy the walk on the warm sandy beach.

We have reached the pier area. Before we head out onto the pier let's stop by the area where the local fisherman work on their boats. When boats are in need of repair the locals pull them out by hand and work on them in this yard. Let us take a gander and see what is going on.

Looks like there are a couple of local fisherman working on their boat. Let us take a look around the boat yard. Not much happening right now because the ocean has been rough lately.

I guess it's time that we made our way out onto the pier. Lets walk on over there and check out the scene.

Looks like we have reached our destination. How about we take a stroll out to the end of the pier. It looks like we have a couple of locals fishing off the pier.

Here we have the real locals waiting for their payment from the fisherman.

Here you can see the remnants of the old wooden pier. This new concrete pier seems to be much more sturdy. Let me tell you though, when the water is warm and calm you can find many lobsters hanging out around the old wooden pilings.

Thinking of lobsters is making me hungry. We should head out to the end of the pier and see what they have for the catch of the day. I am thinking a nice ceviche would make a nice lunch.

Mission accomplished. I scored a couple of nice fish fillets and am going to get some lime and other ingredients to make some fresh ceviche. Que rico!!!! I do love a nice ceviche for lunch. Time to take a deep breath of fresh sea air and make our way back to shore.

Well it is time for me to make my way back down the beach and head for home. It is lunch time and I am ready to eat. I want to thank you all for taking a walk with me, and I hope you enjoyed the view.
