Sunday Afternoon Barbecue In North Peru

in #photography3 years ago

So we ended up having an impromptu barbecue here in Lobitos, Peru today. Out of nowhere a friend showed up with some fresh scallops and asked if we were hungry. After just a moments thought we turned to action, and made a great meal. In the photo above the scallops are being prepared to go into the oven...with some sprinkled cheese on top of course.

Now that the scallops are in the oven its time to get the grill fired up. What better way to compliment fresh scallops than with grilled sausage. Lets get these babies on the grill and cooking.

Now that we have the scallops in the oven and the meat on the grill I think its time to make a beverage. Today I am going to have some Pisco and fresh squeezed orange juice. It looks like we have some more people that are going to show up so we are busting out the big juicer. For those that do not know what Pisco is...well its an alcohol drink made from grapes. You gotta watch out because it will sneak up on you. Drink them slowly and in moderation.

The dogs look like they are getting excited about the cook out as well. They look like a couple of land sharks pacing around.

Ohhh buddy. Just got the word that the scallops are ready. Lets place them on the table and have a taste.

The scallops were a big hit and super delicious. I am feeling pretty full but the sausages are ready. So there is only one thing you can do in a situation like this...which is have some more food and enjoy.

What a great afternoon we had here in north Peru. Eating great food and hanging out with friends is a great combination, and the best part about the holiday season. Even the cat got to enjoy the cook out. While the dogs were outside eating the leftovers...the cat took advantage and took over their bed. Hope you all had a great weekend. Enjoy.
