It turns out May 6th is National Beverage Day. Yes, that's pretty much the most generic, all encompassing thing to celebrate. But for this incredibly important holiday, I thought I'd share my morning ritual.
I love coffee. The caffeine is a nice wake up in the morning for the gym, but I do really love the taste. Over the last two years, I've shifted almost exclusively from hot brew to cold brew. I find the taste smoother, I like that I don't have to wait for it to cool to drink, and it does seem to be less acidic. I used to spend a lot of money buying pre-made cold brews from the store until I realized I could save a lot of money by brewing it myself. I bought a cold brew carafe on Amazon and have been waking up to this for the last yeah and a half.
This carafe can last me 2-3 days because I only have a cup or two in the morning. I ended up buying a second carafe so when I'm down to the last cup from this carafe, I have another one in the fridge brewing. So right now I'm having a delicious cup of cold brew to celebrate National Beverage Day!
Coffee is pretty much the only beverage I drink beside water. I find the fancy beverages that are around are overrated.
I agree. And the fancy coffee beverages have so much sugar in them, I think they're for people who don't really like coffee!
I see... a real coffee addict... don't even try to steal his coffee in the morning, the knives are ready to be used :-)
I'm the same...and do I sense that you are too?
Absolutely... when I get up in the morning, coffee is my best AND only friend :-)
Ha, I hadn't intended on sending a message with the knifes, but now that you mention it, I fully approve of this message. :)
I have a Keurig brewing now with an organic french roast, but this is something I could get into. I love cold brew, iced coffee, iced americano...even in winter. Cheers to National Beverage Day!
Yeah, I'm the same. Any time of year is good for a cold brew!
You can brew coffee cold? Never heard of that. I googled it a minute ago. Sounds interesting. I think I will order a cold brew carafe the next days to give it a try :)
This is the one I bought. It really works great. I usually prepare it in the morning for the next day so it has 22-24 horus to brew but I don't think you need that long. You just pour cold water over the grounds and let it brew. I've found that dark roast works better because the grounds are larger so the water filters through easier. I also like the sharper bit of dark roast for a cold brew.
I had some coffee this morning, a beer with lunch, and a couple of glasses of water throughout the day. I guess I'm really going all out for the holiday.
nice coffe setting ☕️ enjoy!
