Ok, I did not dance... However, I was an exhibiting artist at the Genoa Candy Dance Arts & Crafts Faire this weekend. It was also the grand opening of Nevada's newest art gallery - The Genoa Gallery, where I am now selling my prints out of. Congratulations to Harry and Aaron (a father/son team) on their new gallery!
The Candy Dance was a huge success. It didn't happen last year... so everyone was extra excited to get out to this event that has happened every year (except one) for the last 102 years. Tons of people were there, tons of artists, crafters, and food and beverage providers. Speaking of beverage providers... I was a "good boy" this weekend and didn't drink. But the Bloody Marys were being served early and plenty of people were going BIG with the drinks, lol. I'm not sure I've ever seen so many people stumbling around so early in the day. Good times!
Here's a photo of the booth I was in most of the time. It had some of my work in it as well as a sampling from most of the artists in the gallery. Our main goal was to get people to walk the 100 feet down the walkway from the street and into the new gallery. Not as easy as it sounds but the gallery got plenty of visitors. Success!
This was my view for most of the weekend:
Our corner. Our very windy corner... We had no wind protection and it definitely caused some issues, especially the second day. We ended up shutting down the booth a bit early because of it. Still fun though!
Just in case you want more info about the Candy Dance:
Yup , it was crowded! And it stayed that way most of the weekend:
Some friends from Truckee (where I live) made the trip down to visit and check out the festival. They drove down on motorcycles and it seemed like they were having a great day:
Finally, a few photos of the gallery itself. The Genoa Gallery is located in the unit on the far left in this building:
Here's the inside of the gallery, with gallery owner Aaron manning the desk.
If you're ever headed to Genoa, Nevada, be sure to let me know and we might be able to meet up at the gallery... Thank you for looking. I hope you all had a fun weekend too!

I wonder how many people woke up the next day and realized they'd dropped a grand on art while completely hammered :D
Bwahaha... you figured out our evil plans!
I am but a lowly accomplice in this endeavor.
I'll take 20 percent, thanks :)
