Ingenuity in the face of a Deficient Economy…

Hace poco que estoy nueva en una comunidad ya que por estos días estoy al cuidado de una casa, hay muchas cosas que me han llamado la atención y más que todo me refiero como algunas personas idearon maneras o formas de ganarse la vida.

I have only recently joined a community as I am currently caring for a house, there are many things that have caught my attention and most of all I refer to how some people came up with ways to make a living.

Aquí tenemos unos panes dulces, no tienen nada fuera de lo común, recién llegada, una tarde escuche una voz femenina gritado; Panes, Panes dulces, y no resistí la tentación de merendar uno de estos con un poco de café, así que llame a la joven y le compre.

Here we have some sweet breads, they have nothing out of the ordinary, just arrived, one afternoon I heard a female voice shouting; Bread, Sweet Bread, and I could not resist the temptation to snack on one of these with some coffee, so I called the young lady and bought her.

Pasaron los días y una que otra tarde le compraba y en verdad los panes son muy buenos, pensé que los compraba al mayor en alguna panadería y los revendía, pero yo estaba lejos de acertar en mis percepciones, ya que un día tenía muchas ganas de merendar uno de estos deliciosos panes y recordé que ya hacía varios días no pasaba la joven.

The days passed and one afternoon I bought from her and in truth the breads are very good, I thought that she bought them from the major in some bakery and resold them, but I was far from being right in my perceptions, since one day I really wanted to eat one of these delicious breads and I remembered that it had been several days since I had seen the young woman.

Le pregunte a una vecina si no sabía de la muchacha que vende los panes y su respuesta fue; -Es que cuando vende todos los que hace al día no tiene que salir… También me comento que podía ir hasta su casa a comprarle y me indico como llegar.

I asked a neighbor if she didn't know about the girl who sells the bread and her answer was: "When she sells all the bread she makes a day, she doesn't have to go out.

Al siguiente día me acerqué hasta su casa y le compre, pero mi curiosidad no se contuvo y le dije, me comentaron que haces los panes aquí, te felicito porque son muy sabrosos, ella me respondió los hago en un horno a leña… Por más que trate de imaginarme como era ese horno no pude y soy una persona que contantemente me muevo entre el campo y la ciudad y he visto inventos de muchos tipos, pero un horno a leña pensé que ya no existían.

The next day I went to her house and bought it, but my curiosity was not contained and I said, I was told that you make the breads here, I congratulate you because they are very tasty, she replied that I make them in a wood-fired oven ... As much as I tried to imagine what that oven was like I could not and I am a person who constantly moves between the countryside and the city and I have seen inventions of many kinds, but a wood-fired oven I thought no longer existed.

Ella inmediatamente noto mi cara de asombro y me dijo, quiere ver el horno. Por supuesto que sí, sin dudarlo respondí.

She immediately noticed my amazed face and said, she wants to see the oven. Of course I do, without hesitation I answered.

Cuando vi esto me quede sin palabras… no creía que los panes se hornearan tan perfectamente aquí y ella me comento, hubiese venido una hora antes y hubiese visto cuando los sacábamos.

When I saw this I was speechless... I didn't believe that the breads were baked so perfectly here and she told me, she would have come an hour earlier and seen when we took them out.

Parece tonto pero esto ha cambiado de algún modo ciertos puntos de vista que tenia de algunas situaciones, ya que muchas veces me quejo de una u otra cosa que tienen mil soluciones y no logro verlas.

It seems silly but this has somehow changed certain views I had of some situations, since many times I complain about one thing or another that has a thousand solutions and I can't see them.

Estas personas hacen a diario una pequeña producción de panes, ricos panes y de una forma tan simple que como dije anteriormente, uno se queda sin palabras.

These people make a small daily production of bread, rich bread and in such a simple way that as I said before, one is speechless.

Gracias por pasar espero que de una u otra forma te sirva esta experiencia a ti también, creo que esa es la idea por la que todos poco a poco nos hemos convertido en editores y consumidores de contenidos.
