Hi there steemians! Hope you're doing well today :). It's been a while, but today I'm finally posting another great story about my journey through Alaska :), have fun reading this post.
The cruise is over, we had an amazing time on the ship and we saw some incredible places in Alaska. Now it's time to go to Anchorage and do some fishing there :). We went by motor coach and it was a 3 hour drive from Seward to Anchorage. On our way we enjoyed the beautiful landscape and nature. When we arrived at Anchorage we've picked up our rental car and we drove to Soldotna to meet Jim (the fisherman) and arrange some things for fishing the next day. Jim told us that we meet up @ his place at 5 am, OMG another early morning (no resting on this holiday:P).
Later that day we checked in our hotel with a nice pool and jacuzzi and went to bed early.
OMG I'm definitely not a morning person, but we were so excited to go on this fishing trip!
Around 6 am we were installed @ the boat and the fishing had started. It was quite cold that day, so I was very happy with my gloves. My dad caught the first fish, it was a trout, but then around 9 am the fishing line from my boyfriend was having a hard time and yes..... he caught a King Salmon from 24 pounds!!!! Whoehoeeeeeeee :)
During the day the bald eagles were keeping us company..look at this incredible creature :)
Later that day my mom and I also caught some trout and my mom also caught a baby King Salmon, which was very rare in July to caught a baby King, Jim said. The fishing was a very unique and fun thing to do and of course we wanted to take the King Salmon to a processor so that we can taste this fish.
After the fishing we had to drive for 1,5 hour to Homer, because the next day we were going to do bear viewing :) # so freaking excited!!!! :):) When we arrived in Homer, we have to weigh ourselves and we got instructions for the next day. In Homer there were a lot of nice restaurants and little tourists shops. We had an early dinner @ Paddies place, were I ordered fresh oysters yum yum :) and clam chowder (soup with fish and all kinds of nice ingredients).
I'll hope you like my posts about Alaska and you're more then welcome to follow me and I will follow you as well ;)
See ya!
