Gdansk railway station. Poland (Own day and night photos)

in #photography8 years ago

I recently visited several Polish cities, one of which is a real pearl — Gdansk. Acquaintance with the city often starts with the airport or station. In this case, the railway station Gdansk Głowny has surpassed all my expectations, it is simply beautiful. It is close to the Old Town, so you should definitely look at him live, if you are in Gdansk.

Construction finished in 1900, and the tower built a few years later.

Roof - is now a bronze work of art.

In France, in the city of Colmar, the railway station was built on the same project, but the tower is quite different.

And in the city of Metz has a pretty similar station Mets-Villa .

The station is a bit like a toy fairy tale castle.

Opposite the station is a tram stop. Actually, I really like rail transport. This model Modertrans N8C-NF.

At night, when the lights turn on, the station is transformed.

Here is the station from the observation deck of the Church of the Virgin Mary.

At the end of the Second World War the station building was badly damaged, but it could be restored.

This view from the tower of the church of St. Catherine.

Of course, this building must be seen with my own eyes, pictures do not convey the whole atmosphere.

To be continued...
