Hey everyone,
Another update on what’s going on in my life
Florida has been awesome, I’ve been having a lot of fun going to different dum circles. Usually after the sun sets, (which is psychedelic in it’s own regard), people start to spin glow toys, DJ’s bust out turntables, and a miniature burning man unfolds…
Maybe it’s because I grew up going to drum circles and howling under the moonlight with the grown-ups, but I find this type of communal gathering is very therapeutic 😄
Last weekend I was trying to find parking near this little area of the beach that usually not many people go to. However, this time, I wasn’t able to find parking and I noticed people were swarming the streets like a basketball game just finished. Once I was able to find parking though and walk over to the beach I realized that there was a giant sandcastle competition happening and this is why people were everywhere!
This was just the front entrance
In this post I’m going to try to rank and display each piece from least to most impressive, but by no means was this an easy decision and now I’m over here spending most of my time trying to figure out how to order these for y’all! Haha I’m also trying to keep the file size is low but at the same time I want to give you the option of being able to open up these images and zoom in on the sand so you can see the textures because that’s another aspect of this whole event that’s incredible
Here we have a huge whale. The sun was setting at just the perfect place for this one too
Some knights jousting on the back of seahorses, I love the smoothness of the castle steps and the coral at the bottom
This soon to be mother mermaid with a cool rocking seahorse
A turtle with an outhouse on it’s back. This idea of making textured wood out of sand tickles my brainzzzzz
Why stop there though??!? Here’s textured metal with rivets sculpted in freaking SAND!!
Ooooo she thicc and looking at how she’s eating the arm of a sailor, getting thicker haha. But let’s not take away from that cool skull on the tentacle!
This one hits me in a certain way that makes you want to just kiss your fingers like a chef and say ART!! 🤌
This one was the centerpiece and over 10 feet tall!
The Mantaray-cer. This is a tie for my favorite. Making perfect spheres from sand and the simplicity of it I totally love! It makes me think of the quote
simplicity is the height of sophistication
Leonardo da Vinci
This one was called Mozart’s Organ. It was huge, the textures on all the surfaces must’ve taken some time. My phone thought this was a landmark when I snapped it.
What an awesome surprise to stumble upon to right?!?
Which one was your favorite?
