Remember peace!

Day 10

Enough with the wars... Let me remind you (and my self) how peace looks like. I took this photo about 5 years ago. That life style is not easy, but nothing good comes easily. That lifestyle is peaceful for me, living in nature, always connected with it, no need to handle crazy people everyday, producing [most] of your food.

No fancy cars, no comfortable houses but no need for them, no super sport car can handle those dirt roads, no need for a comfortable house when you have nature outside.

But wait... if it's that good, why aren't we (I'm not) living it?

All photos are taken by me, except noted.

Sort:

Most people are collectivist, cities are a reflection of this.

Social hierarchies give individuals purpose, most wish to climb up the social status ladder.

Rural areas are relatively static, some find this to be calming, others may find it desolate.

I appreciate both.

Social hierarchy is undeniable, but what you define as the top position is very important and shows values of that society.

I think defining a luxury life as a higher position in the hierarchy is wrong. Not that, having a luxury life is not wrong or living in the city is not wrong, but defining those as higher position in the social hierarchy is wrong. Maybe they (who's they?) don't say it out loud, but the way I see it major media are defining it as a higher position.

The best way to win some games is not to play.

Yeah, I was thinking if I create a social hierarchy in which [for example] living in simple house in a village is the highest position, then how am I different from those who say that luxurious life is the top.
