I am glad this little guy was rescued and given a better home. Back about 15 years ago when Larry and I were running as a team driving, we went up and down alligator alley at least 2 or 3 times a week picking up flowers out of south Florida. It didn't happen often but so many alligators would get hit by cars and trucks. We never hit one but a couple of times had to do some fancy driving to prevent hitting one. Doesn't matter what animal it is, I always hate seeing them killed by vehicles, but at the same time, I always worried we would breakdown in alligator alley. It's not a place you want to spend time on the side of the road.
I would never like to be broken down on alligator alley, and rescuing an animal does my heart good. I think they refer to them as speed bumps. No disrespect intended! 🐓🐓
Sadly, a lot of people do call them speed bumps and when a vehicle tire loses it tread, they call out on the CB, "gator in the road" because hitting one of them is a lot like hitting an alligator except the tire tread can be slung out from under the tire and cause major damage to any vehicle it hits.
