Good day and welcome to my current office.
Come with me and I'll give you the $2 tour, might want to just leave your shoes on.
The one striking feature of this particular site is this ceiling detail, you just don't see this in modern homes. It's a dead art that ultimately adds some good value to an older home.
The french doors below indicate extra emphasis on this room. You don't pay for that kind of detail for more than a high traffic and well used area. Well, not on a limited budget at least.
As nice as old homes can be they will always have issues.
Your windows are installed into a frame designed to distribute a load to either side of that opening and can be very safe and effective if done properly.
That is until a weekend warrior comes along and makes me want to cry. Not to mention making a potentially dangerous situation for the resident.
Since you came with me to see my orifice..er..office.
Here it is:
It's also the lunch room and cutting station. Carpenters are a versatile bunch and the spaces we work in reflect that.
This hallway serves nicely as a home for orphaned doors. Don't worry, we put effort into finding homes for them. We take them to The ReStore, it's like if Value Village and Home Depot had a baby. It's actually a pretty cool place for browsing to see what kind of things you can do to your home on the cheap.
Smash along dotted lines.
And for those of you who would like to know what a bedroom closet looks like without the closet:
Don't you hate it when you break a nail?
I know I sure do!
But it's like they say after all; Life is just one damn thing after another...
and another
and another
and the beat goes on.
See what I did there? I made you smirk. That in turn makes me smirk.
Now we're having a good ol' circle smirk.
Moving on, you can see here that the roof bone is connected to the wall bone..
And the wall bone is connected to the...
Copper vent stack?!
I need a drink.
You see that wall over there? The one with the writing on it, yeah, that one.
It's looking at me funny.
It's got to go.
But that is a different story for a different day.
Stay tuned!
Thanks for dropping by my little spot on the rock, if you enjoyed your time here why don'tcha drop a few coins in my hat and pass along the word to some friends so they can enjoy as you did.
Cheers,
Speck.
