Nubble Island

Nubble Light is located on Cape Neddick in York, Maine. The lighthouse has been in operation since 1879, when it was built to protect sailors from the hazards of a rocky Maine coast. It has changed hands several times over its service life. It was initially called Knubble Lighthouse, and then renamed Cape Neddick Lightstation while in the care of the US Coast Guard.
