Well, what a week it has been here in the UK. The death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday seems to have bought out the best and worst out of people, especially on social media. Whether one believes in the monarchy or not, I guess it can be easy to forget that the passing of an individual in the public domain, regardless of what they're associated with or have done, has an immediate impact on their family and friends; family and friends whom may be unable to have no impact on the past.
There's that thing, you can choose your friends but not your family.
This sort of thinking left me in a reflective mood on Friday morning when I took Lola for a walk on the beach. To be honest the sky seemed to reflect my mood perfectly.
We have a dark history as a country, a history many of us aren't proud of. Few of us are aware whether we have distant associations with that dark past but yet are immediately critical of those around us.
I'm not sure forgive and forget is right as I appreciate forgiveness is a difficult thing when huge wrongs have been done. However, in a time of difficulty, change, grief and uncertainty, I think we should at least attempt to show a level of respect and, if that isn't possible a level of restraint.
I'm not quite sure whether that came from TBH but good to get it off my chest.
It's definitely a weird time. We've seen some sort of mass hysteria around previous royal events, but a lot of people just want to get on with life. It is the end of an era. Amazing when you think that when she became Queen that few people had a TV. A lot has changed in 70 years.
I think we should acknowledge the bad things the country as done as well as the good. We should not pretend that everything was good for everyone. It's not about doing the country down and we need to respect other cultures.
Have a good weekend.

Deep. Sometimes, that is how it is.
Love the photographs, the sky is tremendous.
Which camera are you using?
Thank you. These are probably near my favourite I’ve taken. These were taken from my phone and edited with Adobe Lightroom (also on my phone). iPhone 11 Pro.
Forgiveness is actually best for the person who is doing the forgiving in my experience.
Carrying anger as resentment is really unhealthy and harmful to a person over time.
One doesn't need to forget though...sometimes it's safer to remember so things don't happen again, I think?
Your post was honest and moving.
I stay off mainstream social media for exactly the reasons you speak of.
We are at our worst on it. Cruel and uncaring. And entitled. :(
Incredible photos btw. That's what caught my eye
Thank you. I take quite a few of the same view so worry about boring people. No two days ever seem the same though.
Well first I've seen so you're safe with me
It's incredible how the same scene can look totally different on different days...
I look forward to that. Please tag me in same but different walk / shots
The sky definitely looks amazingly complex.

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago and only needs a few more HP to get funded again.
May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work this year?
You can do it on Peakd, ecency, or using HiveSigner.
Your support would be really appreciated.
Thank you!Dear @stav, we need your help!
I appreciate your candid words. It is amazing that Queen Elizabeth lived so long and became Queen when Churchill was still Prime Minister. It is hard for folks in America to understand the pageantry and the meaning of the monarchy. Thanks for the insight.
I am excited to start on Hive. I am active on Twitter!
