Day 1 Glencoe, Ontario to Montreal, Quebec
My husband and I decided to pack up our world and trek east to see that half of our gorgeous country. We loaded up our 2011 Ford Freestar Minivan with clothes, food, bedding, camping gear, our two Labrador Retrievers, my husbands wheelchair, mobility scooter and a homemade ramp. With nary an inch to spare we set off and headed east along the 401. I was anxious about all the loading and unloading as well as how we would manage so this was the only picture from day one.
This is the view from Mont Royale at 2 am on a hot night in July 2011. We can't afford hotels so anywhere we can park for free suits us fine most nights. This night we found plenty of music and chatter from the local young adults. We also amused ourselves watching raccoons plunder the garbage bins for an scraps they could grab their tiny hands on.
Eventually we found a more secluded parking lot and grabbed a few hours of sleep.
