A monochrome rush

in #photography8 years ago

A spur of the moment panning shot. There is something I really like about it but I am not quite sure what. It could be the motion blur or the off-centre weighting. I like the massive white space that brings the back of the pillion rider in sharper and I also like the blot of black on the right edge that makes it look like they shot out of a wormhole.

When shooting random shots like this it is hard for me to know exactly what will come out but as I press the shutter, I often already have an idea of what will appear when I check back. Sometimes I am right on the money, often, it is nothing like I imagined. That doesn't mean that it is bad, just different. Not having expectations met is often a good thing.

I really enjoy doing this in new cities as it captures the feel of a place for me rather than just the usual suspect postcard pictures. This was 5 years ago and I remember the conversation I was having at the time. It was with my now wife and we were talking about how we got together. This was on our first holiday as a couple.

The memory is a funny thing.

This is definitely a GREAT shot @tarazkp!! I love all the things you mentioned about it--primo!!!! I saw your name mentioned on @tonyr's post on recommended Steemians to follow. I haven't been here in awhile, so glad I've made it back. Already following you. Grateful to connect again.

Thank you and welcome back. I am humbled by Tony's post and very grateful for his words.

And perhaps you would consider injecting your talent into the Collaborative Art Journey. 74 artists have already contributed to this collaboration and we have made over 335 pieces of art together. Here is the last FINALE -- a new gallery to be beginning soon.

This is a beautiful capture!

Nice. Always doing great photography!

What a great shot! It reminds me of those moments when you see something and wish you could capture that exact image but it happens too fast to grab a camera. You caught this one though. 👍🏽😊
