Happy as a dog in the grass

in #photography7 years ago

Last night our daughter woke up in the middle (just after I went to bed) and wouldn't go back to sleep. This happens quite often when we are testing new foods as the ones that do not agree with her upset he stomach and disrupt her sleep. What this means for me is that she is brought into our bed and I am kicked out and onto the couch because I supposedly snore too loudly.

My dog loves nights like this.

Whenever anyone is on the couch it means it is snuggle time and even though it is too small for me to lay straight alone, he will find a position that makes it infinitely harder. He is getting old so, I don't mind and I think that if people are going to have pets, have happy pets. He is a happy dog even though he is struggling in a number of ways now.

These photos are taken a few years ago on one of our walks in the spring and this is where he is the happiest. Pine cones thrown into the underbrush for him to chase and find is one of his favourite pastimes .

What I like about these photos is that I was shooting almost directly into the sun giving all kinds of flares, streams and highlights on edges. There is a cross-process filter thrown over the top. I don't usually use filters or like over-processed photos but for these it gives a playful fairytale appearance which suite for the moment.

Although I pretty much only use my own photos in posts, I don't often just post sets without writing a little bit about them or something else. There are some professional photographers here who only post photos which is fine considering the amount of work that goes into the setup, lighting and editing. Those that don't really know think it is kind of lazy but, a lot of background work goes into photography.

These days, with so many Instagram photographers and point and click cameras where the software does the work, it is easy to think that it is simple. Just a bit of Photoshop and Voila! For the pros... No, that isn't going to cut it. Like any profession, if anyone could do it, it wouldn't be a profession.

Those are some stunning shots. The sunlight in the background is amazing. As for getting stuck on the couch, I hear you, some nights both me and my partner lose our bed to the kids and end up steeling theirs just to get some sleep, the inevitably find us though!

I am waiting for the day she is out of the cot so I can get a bed too ;)

Careful with having the little one in your bed...we let that happen around 2 years old. He continued to sneak into our bed all the way until 5 years old. I’d only get a sliver of bed to sleep on. :)

This is my fear.

I like the 3rd picture . "floating Dog" He seems to be effortly gliding along . The sun is in the perfect spot .
We seem to be in an Iphone photo fad . Not that there's anything wrong with that . But by no means does it compare to a professional .

I like that one too :)

Yeah, the photography field has been diluted by technology.

But is he a good boy? ;)

I forget that my dogs are not little people and I always count them as family members. Because of the closeness between dog owners and their companion animals, I ofter wonder if dogs actually domesticated people for us to become their companions.

I'm glad they did.

You should see him and my daughter together. They are like brother and sister, including the arguments.

It's wonderful to be able to experience that kind of relationship with a dog. I think it brings out the real humanity in us.

Just love! 💜💜💜 Those are amazing shots of you old puppy. My dog is also getting on in the years and has had major surgery twice this year. I love a good snuggle but sometimes shes snubbs me lol.

He is awesome and even though old, still loves to get up to mischief.

Hi Taraz. He looks naughty lol. You captured some good shots of him. It's amazing that they will always find a spot to snuggle. I have the same problem but mine is a Bull Mastiff.

Lol, @tarazkp, you snore too loud?

Hmm, your dog isn't too big, so it doesn't get to be really bad as long as he is not shedding all over you and the chair. My dog used to shed like no man's business.

What breed is your dog?

I have never heard myself snore so I assume my wife lies.

He is a wire-haired dachshund.

Sure...running in the fields with the master is utmost joy for a dog. I loved the raw emotions you captured in these photos.

Yes, I don't like it sometimes when people post simply the photos. Even if the amount of work gone is huge - I would love to read some context or explanation. I almost always never mind.

Nonetheless, I hope you and your pet find many snuggle nights in future.

I love the 2nd one. Great energy for an elder dog!

I usually don't comment much on my pictures. Not because I feel the efforts spent creating the image dispense me of spending more efforts commenting the image, but simply because I like to present the image as it is and let the viewer make their own mind about it. If they have questions or want to talk about the picture, then of course I'm more than happy to engage in conversations in the comments. So far Steemit has been a great platform to do so.

I am hoping that those with skills in whatever niche will get engagement in time. With photography, the tag has become largely useless.

The photography tag is definitely kinda useless. But there is no shortage of niche tags with tiny communities forming around them.

I am currently using and enjoying #filmphotography and #randomjapan. Anyone reading this, if that sounds like themes you might enjoy, come check it out ;)

Really nice looking dog, these pictures are filled with emotions of nature itself, they look gracious. Hope your daughter is fine now

She is okay. It is a common occurrence.

Your Daughter. When trying new foods
Eat earlier so she has time to digest before bed.
Probiotics. Those are essential for a healthy gut.
If she does get a tummy ache give her a few chewables.
Overdosing on probiotics is good. A healthy gut is where immunities live.

Our dogs are the best people we could ever know.

We have a diary of every morsel of food, time eaten, reaction times etc for the last 15 months. She has also been on vivomixx and another (name escapes me) for that time. Her reactions can take up to 3 days after the foods have been eaten. She was allergic to the breast milk too even though my wife was only eating unseasoned sweet potato and pork for 6 months.

Was your wife injected with antibiotics prior to your daughters birth?
My great nephew had horrible eczema, so bad that parents would not allow their kids near him, it was heart breaking. My niece had been given antibiotics just prior to his birth which I believe killed all the good bacteria in his body too. He takes probiotics everyday and his skin has been clear for 3 years now.
My parents were told I was allergic to everything on the face of the earth after 100's of thing were injected into by back with giant needles (I never understood my fear of needles until I was told about this as an adult). I suffered for years with allergies, asthma and skin issues. I have digestive issues too, unless I take probiotics.
One more question, does your daughter have Rh- blood? If so she could be missing certain enzymes not being produced naturally. If she is Rh neg, I can provide you with a little more info.
Yumyum dolpolis is a kids chewable probiotic safe for really young kids.

Food combinations can be tricky to detect.
You may want to try fasting her, then reintroduce food items one by one to see when a reaction occurs.
Plus fasting completely rebuilds your immune system.
My heart goes out to her because I can completely relate to how miserable it is. My stomach aches would be so painful I would pass out.

No, there were no antibiotics before.

Lovely natural light capture. I like incorporating the sun and using it to intensifying my photos, will post some pics later. I have in the last few months built a relationship with a feral cat, it has been a rollercoaster of trust exercises, but so satisfying. She had a flea infestation and needed a bath and treatment which damaged the trust, but working hard to get it back. They are not as easy as dogs in that department. They really do bring a lot of warmth to ones life.

wow nice dog

Now this makes me miss my dogs. Really happy dogs. The dog is so cute
I love these photographs. The filter the sun gives them is beautiful. Truly, nothing compares to natural filter.

Its really hard not to miss ones dog

I tell you.
Dogs are the best confidants

I have told my dogs more secrets and trivia than I have ever told a person. There have been many over the decades and I miss them all.

Exactly! The same with me. My dog is like my personal assistant. Knows everything about me

thrilling expetience. love to see this picture.upvoted

What a cute dog you’ve got there my friend. Wonderful shots , I must say you’re multitalented. But you didn’t tell us your dog’s name . Smiles

Oh thats a cute little Doggy! The photos are very beautiful and I think the first reason is the beautiful doggy and the second is that you shot directly into the sun. And yes! He looks like a happy Doggy already :)

The photos are okay. Having a pet is really something that is amazing, they can be fun most times.
