We all live in a yellow Submarine
I do love that classic song from the Beatles, but for this post a bit misleading, it's neither yellow, no one lives in it, and what's in the first photo is not even a submarine.

I had heard people mentioned the sunken submarine that can be seen in the Harbor here, but until I happened to be at one of the Marinas at low tide I got this shot of it, which lead me to do some research online only to find while some mistakenly believe the submersible in the city's harbor is an early submarine, it is actually a chamber that would lowered to the ocean floor by a boom on a ship. People could walk to the chamber through a 200-foot-long tube with a staircase that was connected to the structure
Why is it in Milford you may wonder, I know I did well I also found out that Simon Lake, a New Jersey native, lived in Milford between 1907 and his passing in 1945. Lake launched the first submarine to operate in open water, the Argonaut, Jr., in 1898.
Between 1909 and 1923, Lake built 33 submarines for U.S. Navy and also constructed vessels for European nations.
And that is why we also have this Submarine in Milford

Simon lakes Explorer
Lake’s last submarine, the two-man Explorer, was built in 1936 and was designed for civilian uses such as underwater research, mining and oil drilling, and wreck hunting and salvage. During underseas operations, the Explorer depended on a mother ship for air and power.

That’s pretty cool. It’s amazing the history that exists near us that many people just take for granted.
Indeed I was suprised how many who lived here didn’t know all this
