I think, if I'd begin running again after so many years, and my ankles would not hurt, then I would do it at home on a treadmill for a few weeks until I would not look !DERANGED funny to the other people anymore ;)

I used ot love running even after i damaged my knees I built back up I should never have stopped once I stopped for a few years my Knees rebelled in a !DERANGED way whenever i tried to start again
but Ohh well walking is good enough for me these days

You have told me once about running on these long beaches in New Zealand.
A few years ago I wanted to begin running again, but my ankles hurt !DERANGED too much and I had to stop it and had some !BEER instead ;)
LOL some weeks maybe but not this week for sure only two days did I get over 10K, and yes I used to run a lot on the beaches back in NZ
Thats what happened with my knees when I came to NY, I had always wanted to run the NYC Marathon and since i was here thought i would start training again and I tried hard for a few months, but my knees just would not have any of it
I may not be !DERANGED but I share deranged tokens, similarly I don't drink !BEER anymore
When I was about 25 I have been dreaming of running the NYC Marathon, but I never managed to get there and then I started smoking !DERANGED cigarettes and often I drank too much !BEER ... and stopped running 😢
I think I was around 25 or 26 when I did my last Marathon I used to smoke back then, but part of my build-up for a marathon was to quit smoking the week before a marathon, now looking back that was seriously!DERANGED LOL
As for !BEER I I perhaps slowed down a bit the night before a marathon to just a couple but consumed crazy amounts after it LOL
You have been quite !DERANGED by then - quit smoking for a week and then begin again? That's either mad or genius, but I won't decide ;) lol
Of course, after a marathon you need a lot to drink, and !BEER is an isotonic drink ;)
