I was recently contacted by someone with the BelaCam team to take part in the gamma test of the new BelaCam website. BelaCam is an image hosting site similar to Instagram where people get paid in BelaCoin when people like their images. Sort of like a Steemit for photo people.
I submitted a form for the early trial, and 100 people were selected. I was notified today that I was one of the people selected and spent the afternoon setting up my account, uploading a few images, and introducing myself to some of the other members of the site.
Here's a screenshot of what I found when I logged in. I'm not going to do a full blown review today, I thought it would be fun however to share a sneak peak with everyone. I will say the new UI has some great new features. It was easy to use, intuitive, and a lot of fun.
I setup my profile, a couple lines of text about me, The Dood avatar, then I posted a couple images. The first one was of my motorcycle of course :) I also posted some of my Niagara Gorge pictures and the map of my future road trip. Here's a link to my profile if anyone wants to check it out. . https://www.belacamg.com/n/user/bitcoinDood
Currently the site is only available through a web browser. So you just upload your images to the site via Chrome, or Firefox or whatever browser you're using. I'd really love to see an app version of this for smartphones. This would be the perfect solution for posting photos of my cross country trip as I go. I'm told this is in the works for the future. I'd love to document my trip online with an easy to use crypto friendly app :)
I played around with it most of the afternoon and I'm loving everything about the site so far. I'll do a full review in the next week or so as I experiment with the site and learn more about it. I just thought it would be fun to give everyone a sneak peak. So far this looks like its going to be a really fun crypto Instagram type website. Looking forward to playing around with it more, and learning all I can about the platform and its accompanying cryptocurrency Bela
I really like Their interface,
As they are paying you for posting, people will attract towards it.
Is it necessary to post original pictures or we can use google images?
I think they want people to post original content, but I did see a few people posting what looked like possible google images. For the most part though it looked like people posting original content.
Thanks for the information :)
Definitely a fun way to earn coins and share with others.
Been on there too and so far I love it and wish it improves a lot more like adding an auto input for hashtags etc. As a photographer it would be nice to see this do well as most photographers dont make that much unless you work for a studio or have a set standard though for me I do whatever I want and want to express/paid for that
