Throw back to this beautiful rose I discovered in the rose garden in Baden-Baden last summer, when my parents came to visit me. If I recall well, it is called Novalis, and I can see why.
Novalis was a poet and philosopher of Early German Romanticism. Melancholy was a very important theme in his poetry, and the colour of this rose awakens this kind of feeling in me.
I think this is my favourite rose. The moment I saw it I felt something special, like butterflies in the stomach. It was a moment of epiphany.
