~Welcome~
I recently took a weekend to travel from Madrid to the magnificent city of Barcelona, Spain. The roundtrip flight cost only about 10-15 euros more than the high speed train which was a solid bargain as I was living close to the airport, and it ended up saving me about 8 hrs of travel in total. When I arrived, I had a good 7 hours or so to kill before I could meet up with my friend who's place I was staying at. Being a pho phanatic, I decided to sniff out one of the few restaurants in Barcelona that had promising reviews for their pho. It was drizzling rain and unfortunately I had to wait outside for a half hour or so because the restaurant hours on google were incorrect. The pho was delicious however and worth the wait. It was more of a Spanish take on the dish rather than being traditional. The ramen on the other hand.... let's not go there 😣
Once I left the restaurant I still had plenty of time to kill so I assembled my camera and hit the streets. Something I love about Europe is the incredibly aesthetic alleyways you find when walking around. I have played around a lot with these alleyways in my photography, and it is a feature I will miss the most when I return to the endless strip malls of the US. Despite the rain, the alleyway still looked magical, and I tried to convey this magic I felt through my processing.
Anyways, without further ado, here is the first alleyway picture that I decided to work on. It ended up taking multiple pictures of this alleyway over the course of a half an hour... but in the end it was the first picture I took that I ended up liking the most due to the foot traffic at the time. Funny how that works out sometimes 😅
