swimming at the local

Bear cubs are amusing to watch to say the least. Their hesitation, their excitement and clumsy actions always means for not only a moment of pure relaxing joy but moments to capture on camera. The most difficult part of any of this is getting to the location where you are most likely to be in a position to simply be in that moment.

A short flight hour flight north of Vancouver, a brief ride on a water ferry to the boat dock, followed by a 2 day sailing adventure on a 70ft sailing vessel and you should be in close proximity of a well known salmon spawning river. This river happens to be in prime grizzly bear territory as well. At the end of the day it means your chances of seeing a mother grizzly and her three cubs making their way to the river to feed are slightly higher than most other places in the world. Since, nearly none of us can do this right now I thought a photo of that moment might suffice for now. enjoy.
