Mysterious Landscapes

The interplay of water and light has always fascinated me and the stream which flows past my studio has created an endless source of beauty and inspiration. This photo was taken on September 14, 2009. To get to the orchard I don knee boots or even chest waders then cross the stream, go through the field then up the hill to the orchard; this was taken during low flow over a riffle section; the water is only a few inches deep.

To my Steemit explorer friends,

I have probably taken over a million photographs of the natural world since childhood; this is a daily series of some of those I most treasure.

Where They are From

  1. Many are from an organic orchard that I created on the hill above my home. When you are raising trees from saplings you are out in all weather at all hours and see remarkable things.

  2. Some are from my art studio and my efforts there- especially those on behalf of the Tibetan people.

  3. Still others are from my wanderings in the wilderness with compass and map my companions. Many are featured from posts I have created here on Steemit and I will link to those whenever possible if you wish to read more of the how, when and where.

Please upvote if you liked this post, and follow for more journeys through our mysterious and amazing world. And please comment as I greatly value these and will answer any questions you may have (and generally go to look at your posts of course since I consider a group of friends the most valuable possible outcome from efforts on Steemit.)

Beautiful work capturing this! I can see how this stream would be a major source of inspiration. What a lovely atmosphere you must be surrounded by when you travel to your orchard :)

True. Although the prospect of dragging on your boots can be a bit tiring at times...

Lol I hear that! I've had quite a few muddy walks on my land in Canada :) Just had a pond put in in the back for the dogs and there was so much work to do back there. So I was dragging my boots quite a bit, haha

Oh yes I can imagine :) Mud really grabs! Also you have to wear the boots that form around your ankles which makes them tiring to pull off...

Its really a very interesting article. the pic is something one's eye certainly stop by....really very nice...thank you.

Thank you for stopping by @sthitprajna!Please return again :)

As a painter I have spent hour after hour staring at water. Calm water, rough waters. Rivers, lakes and Ocean. It such a challenge to capture. I enjoyed your article very much. Thank you

Yes. And any number of colors depending upon the time of year...green blue in the spring, golden brown in summer, jet black in winter and fall evenings...

Water is the source of life ,, oh so clear
:)

Yes it is! :)
