Using film cameras is always a much different and unique approach to the same action with a digital camera. Despite being mostly not as useful, the uniquely creamy grain of the film is a feature which is worth investing and experimenting.
I like flim photos. But if often wonder if it's because I'm not young. That is, perhaps I like them because they're nostalgic. The creamy grain is comforting. But as you say, it's not as useful as digital. Which makes be believe it's just a reminder of the past.
