I am a travel writer who is fascinated with exotic locales...mysterious places, smells and sights.
When I decided to go to Istanbul I expected spice markets and prayer calls.
What I discovered is that in the spring Istanbul is covered with the most beautiful tulips in the world!
The tulip is a national symbol of Turkey and the annual Tulip Festival is held in April worth the trek!
Beautiful pictures! I never knew Istanbul had all those tulips either.
Little known fact! I was all alone with 12,000,000 tulips so not a bad gig... :)

I had no idea Tulips grew in Turkey.
April is the month to go! Istanbul is so exotic. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit.
