This brings me back to when I was a kid. One morning I was walking by the neighbours tree and within a puddle of water a snowflake at least six inches in diameter had frozen completely intact. It truly looked like a paper snowflake design. I have never seen anything like it again until today seeing this picture. It may be a different phenomenon yet no less one indeed.
