Risk/reward is always something to think about. I did some basic tests and since the thickness was so thin, the risk was high for it to fall, but so thin as well, if it did fall, I could still get out and not be crushed. The ice was more like soft slush since it was melting out so fast. Ice caves are no joke though when getting underneath that kind of load. Fun times though!
