Some Glorious Summer Scenes From An English Village - Through the Fields And To The Boats & River :)

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

In this life I have mostly lived near or in London, England - but in the previous 7 years I have called the county of Norfolk my home.

Our little village is a big change from central London - but besides that it can be a little too quiet sometimes, the upsides massively outweigh the downsides! Fresh air, free movement and natural creatures all around can't be beaten with any amount of money in a big City like London. :)

Today I made a bike ride to get some exercise and deliver a cucumber I had grown to my friends - I took these shots along the way.

The Bure Valley Railway line is quite fun as you can cycle a stretch and get the steam train back to where you started. It runs from Aylsham to Wroxham (where there is a main-line station) through Buxton and Coltishall. Nice river at Buxton. Good cake shop at Coltishall. Broad at Wroxham (though quite busy and commercial there) I think you may need to book to take the bike on as they only have a couple of carraiges big enough.

Awesome! thanks for the tip. I have been on holidays on the broads many times in the distant past, but not well enough to know these locations from memory - I'll check them out.

Feel free to pick our brains - you can always ask Bob on the stall too :)

Glad to be here! Thanks everyone for your support! @ura-soul

Thanks - Eventually I will share it all and will have to go and create some more exciting experiences :)

Nice shots.

Looks like it was more than well worth the ride to deliver that cucumber! :D Beautiful!

hehe - thanks!

So beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely part of the country did a few geography field trip with school there. That was 20 ish years ago though. Photos look amazing very vibrant

heh - well, to be truthful, my camera makes photos look too dull - so i amped up the vibrancy in software ;)
but the pictures are closer to reality now in terms of colour than they were when i started.

These are some awesome pictures @ura-soul. What camera you using?

nothing special, it's actually a relatively cheap sony video camera with a still mode - i improved the shots in software to make them 'pop' ;)

That's the nice thing about 2017. If you don't have anything too fancy, you can always do something better in some software. What software did you use?

any of the photoshop-like apps can do what i did - just some basic saturation and vibrancy changes - this free, online one is fine: https://pixlr.com/editor/
