Historic Hill Climb - Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

In August, 2017, I spent a few days in the lovely village Villars-sur-Ollon, above the Geneva lake.
This happened to coincide with an event that takes place once every four years - the historic uphill climb - a race up the hill, or rather the pre-alps, of historic cars.
During the days prior to the race the village fills up with drivers and their teams, and old cars start showing up.
On the day of the race some of the main roads between the villages and towns are closed for normal traffic. A few places are designated as places where people can gather and watch the cars.
Some of them look really weird!

Hello @uri-bruck!

Please read: Introducing #photofriend. The hashtag race! to understand the rules.

What is a good photography post and how to create one?

It is important that you take your time!
You will gain followers by producing good quality content, not by increasing quantity.
Newbies are often disappointed when their posts make very little money and they try to make up for it, by producing a lot of them. This then logically affects the quality.

Title your post well.
This is the first thing that everybody sees. The title must be catchy and should stick to the point.

Use photographs of the highest possible quality.
It is a photo post after all.

It is important to write some text alongside your photograph/s.
Provide detailed descriptions of your photographs and some background story. Also provide information about your
camera and its settings. It allows people to learn much more.

Format the text.
By centering images and text, using bolds, italics, making text larger and presenting your links attractively. For a comprehensive guide of formatting in markdown check out this post by @thecryptofiend on Markdown for Beginners
