Finally! For once I am actually posting about something on the day it happened! Today we hiked to Eagle Rock. I was very excited about this hike because it's a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail. Babe and I want to do the whole PCT someday, but that will require a lot of planning. The PCT is 2,650 miles long, spanning the length of the U.S. Pacific coast from Mexico to Canada. We're not quite there yet; we did three miles today. Only 2,647 more to go!
If we ever do the whole 2.6k miles someday I doubt we'll take the pups. Any time we've done more than a five mile hike Rey doesn't handle it very well. I think the issue today was the hot dirt. So her daddy carried her part of the way until we got back to the shaded area. He's such a good daddy. Despite the heat, I think the girls did have a good time. We all did.
They call it Eagle Rock, but I like to think of it as a giant pterodactyl. An easy-moderate hike, with an impressive all natural geological feature at the end. It was a great day, and now I'm going to call it a day. I still have quite a few more photos I'd like to share from today's hike but I'll save those for another post.
Thanks for reading!
