@johannpiber I cannot say I see much difference. Since the cow madness of years ago we hardly see cows outside. The farmers have open stables and they can go out by themselves but prefer to stay in the stable. They seem to like 18C best and warm outside or cold they do not like. The stables are warm plus there are massage tools (?). You can kick them outside for the scenery but if they don't want.
Since years we can only buy bio eggs and those shops we have at least for 40 years or longer. Partly it is fake too, same what supermarkets sell. A free chicken is a chicken not in a cage but free is different. They are still packed close on each other and get shots to prevent illnesses. If you do not do that and they get ill you can clean them all up.
Food can still have the brand bio if pesticides are used but they are only allowed to use certain kinds and till a certain percentage.
I had chickens myself. To be honest my eggs didn't taste better and I don't know what is hidden in the ground and water either. Some were always fighting and they looked terrible as I bought them. I never saw pigs play except some of the neighbour, saw them hung upside down too after being killed.
I do not know the Netherlands and their farms, but I would suggest you to make holidays on an Austrian farm to see the difference.
Our Bio chicken live outside, but they have to stay in the chicken coop over night, because of the foxes, and even now in December the cows go still outside during the day.
This is one side, but the other one are egg farms and meat farms, just as you said. They still exist, of course, and as long as the people buy the cheap meat they will exist.
Have a nice Sunday @wakeupkitty 🙂

Who knows I can visit such a farm once. For now I only drive to Austria or sleep on a parking lot in my car. ❤️
You see me speechless ... ok, you don't see me, but you might be able to imagine me sitting here with an open mouth and don't know what to say.
A lot must have changed since I was last in the Netherlands, but that has been in the eighties ;)
So, because I have no idea what I could reply - living in the Netherlands must have become horrible - all I can say is I wish you a great day @wakeupkitty 🙂

Happy day.
That doesn't sound good - I have such a different country in my memories and I have never heard of any of the things you are telling, but I suppose such things won't get public easily.
Have a great day anyway @wakeupkitty 🙂

The world has changed and people have changed too, @wakeupkitty. And sadly, much has changed to the bad, like the things you are telling me.
What I do miss most at the behaviour of people is Respect. There's no respect anymore, and that is very sad, because that was one important thing we have learned when we were young. And I don't mean to respect the elder, I mean respect in general. There's so much ignorance and hate these days, that I am glad when the weather is fine and I can go somewhere where I can be alone.
Have a great day @wakeupkitty 🙂
