Ghost School
I missed street and nature photography. Today I finally decided to go outside and see the new life around us. Life has dramatically changed and one that was affected is school. I visited an old high school from where we live. Once filled with students during this time but now just an empty shell of what was once very alive.
This old water tank supplies water around the campus. I'm not sure if it is still used these days. Plants are slowly taking over the water tank.
There are new classrooms that were recently built and now are slowly decaying. Classes evolved online to protect our children. It is something that I support and would like for my kids to stay at home until the craziness around us is over.
Nature is slowly taking over and it has only been more than a year since the school was closed. Soon plants will slowly creep in the rooms too and probably small animals would start to live here.
I'm not sure why they kept the windows open. When it rains it would do more damage in the long run since I do not see the school opening anytime soon.
Windows are falling off from its hinges and I think this is from one of the new buildings. Everything is open which caused it to rust quicker.
These are the classrooms, there is no way to get inside from this side. We can take a peek from the windows just to see what it looks like now.
The chairs are now full of dust but are still ready for class. Empty chairs now that once were filled with students. Now maybe spirits or ghosts roam thru each room. There have been some stories and sightings of spirits in this school. From cries in the hallways to dark figures that hide beneath the buildings.
When I was very young my mom used to work here and she sometimes brought me along. She worked at the library that used to be a hospital during World War II. The story says that it was bombed and a lot of people died during the war. It is said that the library is one of the most haunted places here.
I would like to tell you about my experience but maybe some other time. I will try to go back and hopefully revisit the library.
Thanks for joining me today on this short walk.
Stay safe.
