The Wild Elephants of Namibia

in #photography8 years ago

Hello Steemers,

Location: The Ugab River, Nambia

There are not many places in the world you can still visit and find wild elephants roaming freely. Nambia has a huge landmass twice the size of South Africa with a population of only 2 million people and Northern Namibia is just second to Mongolia as the most sparsely inhabited places on earth.

Here in Namibia you will find Lions, Elephants, Leopard and Cheetah roaming freely among the human population. Having a sighting of one of these wild animals however is still a rare occasion and we were on a special lookout for the famous Wild elephants of Namibia.

To get a sighting of these animals you will need to pack a self sustainable 4x4 vehicle and hit the tracks. We decided to drive the Ugab river at the end of the dry season and after a few days we intercepted a Wild elephant.

A special sighting indeed!
