Currently testing the Steemit waters here. I'm considering creating a new tutorial series that teaches photography. I'm not completely sure if I want to do this as a series of videos or just photos w/ text, but I'd start with the basics and work up to more complicated forms of the art.
This will be aimed at those who have either just purchased a new camera, who are thinking about buying one, or who already own one and are simply interested in knowing more about how to use it more efficiently.
The installments would go over such topics as the following:
- What kind of camera should I buy?
- What's this dial that says "P-A-S-M / P-Tv-Av-M" and what are these other picture modes?
- What's the difference between a "crop body" and a "full-frame body"?
- Shutter Speed
- Aperture
- ISO
- Lenses & Focal Length
- Flashes
- How to shoot specific types of photos, such as portraits, landscapes, macros, and perhaps a bit of astrophotography (IFL space!)
- Light modifiers such as bounces, scrims, and flash domes.
- & Basic Photo Editing using Adobe Photoshop CC.
More will probably be added to the list as I begin making these posts, but that's the gist of it so far.
What do you think?
Does this sound like something the community would be interested in?
Reply in the comments below. :)
Me me me!!!
I'd love to hear more ... I want to take my sketches to the next level with a blend of photography.
Very cool. I've been kind of doing the same ever since we got a Wacom tablet. :)
Yeah I do the same as well. Its defintely a lot of fun. Winston's are arguably better than mine though
Yes please. I suck at taking pictures. It would be nice to learn a few of the basics.
It will be great!
A very good idea!
Good luck! ))
I'm interested!!
I think you should break out the analog film camera and do one on that, one on the digital, and how it transfers over. I still find myself wanting to break out the X-700 and go film from time to time.
X-700, Nice!! That's what I'm currently using for one of my two pic-a-day projects. As such, it's currently occupied with a roll of film. I could see perhaps doing a film one down the line, I suppose. But the basics are the same either way. The only difference would be explaining what you have to do to get the roll processed.
This guy right here would love some tutorials as I am new into photography as a hobby! I love taking up close nature photos.
Who isn't ?
:)
I used to do photography years ago, with slide film. I wasn't hard core, hence used to, but I've thought it would be fun to get back into, but the cameras have all changed. So I would be interested in these kinds of posts.
I'm all about it! As much as I've used DSLRs before (used to take hundreds of photos a day when doing mold inspections), I really don't know much on how to effectively modify settings on a camera to get desired effects. Also totally clueless when it comes to the dial on the camera for various modes.
I'm definitely interested, I think a lot of people on steemit would like this :)
me!
I mean... Im sure its better than the multiple Facebook Messages I send you anyway ;) Well, More convenient for you! haha
