Swapmeet Finds #3000

in #photography7 years ago

Daytime and a different angle of that same Scrivner's Triangle Drive-In (seen in the previous post). The note on the first picture gives us a clue as to where it used to be in Los Angeles (but is no longer). Looks like they used to be next door to a Union Oil gas station. And the signs around the roof say, "SKILLET FRIED CHICKEN - MALTS - FRIED SHRIMP - HAMBURGERS - FOUNTAIN - BAR-B-Q". Interesting that it said, "MILLERS ON TAP" in the previous pictures, but now it says, "MALTS". Wonder which came first?

Looking at this 1956 map, we see that Eagle Rock Blvd., Fletcher Dr. and Verdugo Rd. all used to converge in that one area (within the black square).

But nowadays, the Glendale Freeway runs right through the middle of that area. So I'm sure that completely wiped out this Scrivner's location. :-(
