my photo of the
super blue blood moon.
no longer completely "blooded" as you can see.
Nonetheless, I'm happy to be able to capture the moon
that's still bloodstained.
story behind the pix
About 9:30 pm was the scheduled local time when the super blue blood moon would fully become red.
I wasn't really keen on taking photographs because we had a sudden excursion; we had to leave several minutes after the moon reddened entirely. So I was only watching glimpses of it via the livestream of I fucking love science in Facebook while I packed and checked the things I ought to bring along as well as prepared myself.
Luckily, we had some slight unforeseen delays in our trip's initial departure. My parents also agreed for me to take pictures before leaving. Immediately, I took out the camera and lens then ventured outside.
However things didn't sail smoothly as I hoped. The tall structures around us obstructed the view! I even considered going to my aunt's home a couple of blocks away, when she informed me that the moon was fully visible there, after hunting for a spot where it could be seen in our street proved to be futile.
"when will you show up?" I frantically asked the moon in silence. "I know you're on the move."
For the umpteenth area scouring, the elusive moon finally arched high enough for me to see. It loomed rather imposingly past our neighbor's apartment.
I had to raise my arms about 60-70 degrees. Without any tripod, I took several shots.
that's all folks!
