The best low-light camera phone in the market

I've recently just gotten myself a Huawei P20 Pro and it has surprisingly exceeded my expectations in terms of quality, build and battery life. Before this I was using a Nexus 6 and boy...did that phone drain batteries like a leaking faucet. Oh wait, it's worst than a leaking faucet. My nexus 6 could only last me quarter to half a day because I do have a lot of background apps running behind the OS.

Because of this, I was SOOOOOO battery hungry to get a phone that can last me at least a day with being full active on it and not the kind where using waze one time would just deplete 50% of it's battery. For friends who have gone out with me several times, they would realized that I'm the guy always looking for a powerbank and most of the time, no one has it. So I had to turn my Nexus 6 on power saving mode and switch off all network connections.

And so... after waiting for weeks and days...... I finally decided to get myself a Huawei P20 Pro.

Taken with the Nexus 6 :(

Huawei P20 Pro was released a few months back but I was waiting for this specific colour which is the twilight version. It just reminds me of the knife colour in CSGO, and this colour was limited, so I had to wait for a good deal. I eventually found a really good dealer that sold me for RM3100(778USD/270 STEEM), which was RM199 cheaper than its retail price!

I would just give you a brief spec overview on the phone but I wouldn't go into detail because this was supposed to be a photography post but I'm getting all excited and all at the Huawei P20 Pro and I've been talking A LOT about it lately. I know @jaynie would agree :P

This phone packed a max storage of 128GB and has dual simcard slots. I don't know about you, but the dual simcard does come in handy when you're a busy man doing busy stuff and needs two lines. The RAM is 6GB, consider the highest for most flagship phones on the market now but the processor is said to be a tad bit slower. Won't go into detail, moving along....whistles

The deal breaker for me was the three cameras behind this sweet baby. And NO, it isn't just for looks and aesthetics that Huawei just decided to comes up and add an extra lens. Each individual camera has its function.

We have a 40 MP (f/1.8, 27mm) which is the normal everyday use camera. The other camera is also the same but it's a telezoom lens where it allows you to shoot far range zoom photos without losing pixels or blurring out like digital zooms. The front lens is a decent 8 MP (f/2.4, 80mm which takes great photos, will show you in the photos below and lastly! My personal favourite and the best camera of all time.... The MONOCHROME Lens, 20 MP B/W (f/1.6, 27mm).

The battery gave me 1 day to 2 days of battery life with apps running in the background and always playing with my phone.

Without further ado, I shall show you some of the photos over the 2 weeks snapping with this phone.

Food

The AI software in the camera is amazing at controlling and adjusting the light and temperature automatically whenever it detects the object. In this case, it detects it as 'Food'.

Front Selfie Camera

Because it is a f1.6 Aperture lens, it blurs out pretty quickly as it goes further back from the focus area. So take note.

Night/Lowlight Shots

Personally the best low light camera out there in the market. The AI smooths all noise and uses the colour next to each pixel to smoothen out any noise making the photo looking sharp and nice.

Portrait/Monochrome

This is my favourite camera and mode as Leica makes one of the best monochrome lenses out there.

No heavy editing was done to the photos, only slight contrast and brightness.

If you're looking for a point and click and you get a really good photo, the Huawei P20 Pro is the go to phone. A lot of the shots were just point and shoot without any planning and was taken in less than 5 seconds. Well...beats bringing my Dslr around which I don't see the need to anymore. Not saying that Dslr is bad but for everyday photos, this phone definitely surprised me.

And YAY! Because this will enable me to take higher quality photos for all my Steemit posts!

I'm not in any way affiliated to Huawei but if they want to send me free phones in the future, why not? :D

That is certainly a pretty phone with a unique and eye-catching color! I can see why you're excited about the cameras, as the quality of the photos is excellent! That low-light shot with the house and clouds is amazing! I like the food photos, too, especially that sandwich in the last shot! Yum! It was also impressive how you gave the price in RM, USD, and STEEM, so all of the #steemitbloggers could understand without needing a currency converter! Congrats on your new phone! 😊

Hahaha, I should just leave it in RM so everyone have to go through the hassle to convert :P Hahaha, but yesh! The camera is soo good... I'm so happy with it now.

Thanks for dropping by @thekittygirl <3

That camera is amazing for a cell phone! I love how much control the new camera phones are giving to users to fine tune their pictures.

IKR! If you're talking about fast point and click and still get the quality, it's the smartphones these days that will get the job done easily.

Wow nice quality pics you have taken there and it is surprisingly good for a smartphone camera. I thought OPPO was the best, but I think Huawei might have just overtaken the lead.

Hehe, Now all the phone brands are always competing with one another dy lu. It's good competition, it'll only benefit the consumers.

That is absolutely true

Nicely taken photos! 👍 Heard abt the rumour where the phone became lag when more than 7 ppl in a selfie, but seems like not true eh? Haha.

Thanks :D Haha, I think that's like a rumour? So far nothing happen when taking more than 7 ppl in the selfie wo. Smooth like baby skin only. :D
