Who is still having difficulty mastering the composition in taking pictures?
Composition is really important in photography and it's easy to master it. If you think about it, the picture doesn't feel, but if you don't think about the results, it's not good.
Actually it's not too difficult, as long as you have mastered the basics.
Well, how can I master the composition?
The first thing to remember is that composition skills are not affected by the low-cost gear you use. Even though you only use an entry level camera, but because the composition is good, you might think you are using a professional level camera.
Composition is a matter of skill so much practice after learning the knowledge.
Basic Composition in Photography
Before going further, keep in mind the most basic thing is that each photo has a different element so it cannot be generalized. For example, you cannot do the same framing when shooting landscapes and street photography.
Choose a number of ways that you feel good results to be repeated. Then you can add a little creativity when you really master it. Do it slowly, don't be in a hurry to be able to immediately.
- Are the horizon lines straight?
Make sure the horizon line is really straight when you peek from the viewfinder.
So take the time to set the camera to be completely aligned. It takes extra effort to take photos of panoramas, timelapse, videos and similar things. As for general photo usage, it can be easily edited in post-production.
This photo shows the horizon that tilts to the left about 3 degrees to the left, enough to make you feel nervous.
2 . Is the subject strong and clear in the photo?
There is a concept about the composition that is clearly visible as in example number 1 above. But there are also those who need to be seen repeatedly like the example below.
If the picture is like this then which focus?
You must have difficulty deciding because there isn't one object that stands out compared to the other. All elements in this photo compete with each other for your focus. Where do you want to start?
3 .Is the background clean?
Can the disturbing element be removed by moving or changing the camera angle?
This is the next step after number 3 above but with more effort.
Yes, if there is something annoying in the background, for example a car that is parked or a house, which is perceived as disturbing the aesthetics of the photo, you should shift the camera angle as creatively as possible.
You also have to pay attention to all background elements in detail. Is the sky not too bright? Is the color right? Make sure everything is balanced.
