haloo steemian friends around the world, good night from my country ... well this time I want to discuss about one thing that is unique and great that is about an ancient bicycle that is HISTORY OF BIKE CENTER .....

History of old bicycles began in Europe. Around the year 1790, a first bike was built in England. The embryo of this bike is named Hobby Horses and Celeriferes.

Both have not had the mechanisms of today's bicycles, steering rods and pedal systems. There are only two wheels on a wooden frame. Can be imagined, how awkward and big the two bikes.

Hobby Horses as well as Celeriferes, have not had the mechanisms of today's bicycles, steering rods and pedal systems. There are only two wheels on a wooden frame.

Even so, they help enough people - in those days - to walk. The phenomenal discovery in the story of the bike past was created thanks to Baron Karl Von Drais.

Von Drais who was listed as a mathematics and mechanics student in Heidelberg, Germany successfully made an important breakthrough, which turned out to be the foundation layers of the next bike development.

By Von Drais, Hobby Horse is modified to have a steering mechanism on the front wheel.

By taking power from both legs, Von Drais was able to glide faster while walking around the garden. He himself calls this vehicle by name, Draisienne. The story itself was published in a local German newspaper in 1817.

The next process of creation is done by Kirkpatrick Macmillan. In 1839, he added a driving rod that connected the rear wheel with the Draisienne front tire.

To run it, just paddle on. Hobby Horses as well as Celeriferes, have not had the mechanisms of today's bicycles, steering rods and pedal systems. There are only two wheels on a wooden frame.

James Starley started building bicycles in England in 1870. He produced a bike with a very large front wheel (high wheel bicycle) while the rear wheels are very small.

This type of bike is very popular throughout Europe. Because Starley managed to make a breakthrough by creating a wheel of a radius and a cross-tangent method.

Until now both technologies are still used. Buntutnya, bikes become lighter to paddle.

Unfortunately, the bike with big wheels that have many shortcomings. This becomes a dilemma for people of small size and women. Because the position of the pedal and upholstery are high enough, they complain of difficulty to drive it.

John Kemp Starley makes bikes safer to drive, already have a chain to drive the rear wheels and the size of both wheels the same.

Until finally, James Starley's niece, John Kemp Starley found the solution. He created a safer bike to be ridden by anyone in 1886.

This bike already has a chain to drive the rear wheels and the size of both wheels the same.

But the discovery was not less important by John Boyd Dunlop in 1888.

Dunlop managed to find a bicycle tire technology that can be filled with wind (pneumatic tire).

From here, the early progress of the bike is rapidly. Various forms of bikes have been created. As is known later, the bike becomes an exciting vehicle.

In Indonesia, the development of bicycles is influenced by the colonizers, especially the Dutch.

They bring their country's production bike to be used to enjoy the fresh nature of Indonesia.

The habit is infectious to the natives who are blue-blooded. Finally, the bike became a prestigious transport tool.

In the next period, when the role of the bike is getting pushed down by the diverse technology that car-powered vehicles (cars and motorcycles), some people are interested in preserving history through antique bicycle collections.

On average, their old bicycles output European manufacturers. The year rate is between 1940 and 1950s. And they are very careful in taking care of him.

Pasa today, old bicycle old alias more and more desirable. As well as a hobby, also sometimes as an asset because the more ancient will be more rare and expensive.

Nowadays there are many old bike clubs and communities from various regions in Indonesia, spread from Sabang to Merauke which number hundreds of community, and even then only those who have been observed and registered, not to mention still many who are not registered or join the organization under the auspices of KOSTI or abbreviation of Indonesian Old Bicycle Community.

However, usually the bike owned by this club is very different from the old bike that much used as an ojek. If the motorcycles are mostly 80-90s model bikes from China or Japan.

While the owners of most ontel bike club members have bikes that are much more ancient and dominated by European-made, mainly Dutch and English.
