Lightpainting
Since I visited the old malt factory in Berlin in 2019 as part of a "Light Painting Masterclass" workshop with Denis Smith and Rob Turney, I came with an idea for a picture. For this I needed one of the four rooms below the Darren, in which the huge steel bowls lie on the floor. The result is the following picture.
Da ich die alte Malzfabrik in Berlin bereits 2019 schon im Rahmen eines Workshops "Light Painting Masterclass" mit Denis Smith und Rob Turney besucht habe, reiste ich mit einer Bildidee an. Dafür benötigte ich einen der vier Räume unterhalb der Darren, in denen die riesigen Stahl-Schalen auf den Boden liegen. Entstanden ist das folgende Bild.

Making Of
For this image, I position a Convoy S2+ one floor below and direct the light beam towards the ceiling. This allowed the light to project a pattern onto the ceiling through the grating.
Using a second Convoy S2+, I illuminated the floor and metal shell in a complementary color. Then I positioned a pixel stick with tripod and crank. On the pixel stick I had previously loaded a couple of flame images as BMP. With these I turned a circle.
Für dieses Bild positioniere ich eine Convoy S2+ eine Etage darunter und richtete den Lichtstrahl gegen die Decke. So konnte das Licht durch den Gitterrost ein Muster an die Decke projizieren.
Mit Hilfe einer zweiten Convoy S2+ leuchtete ich über den Boden und die Metallschale in einer komplementärfarbe. Dann brachte ich einen Pixelstick mit Stativ und Kurbel in Position . Auf dem Pixelstick hatte ich zuvor ein par Flammenbilder als BMP geladen. Mit diesen drehte ich einen Kreis.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?
Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.
