Utah State Fair

A few weekends ago I went to the State Fair with my family and got some pretty sweet pictures (in my opnion). I just wanted to make a post and share some of the ones I haven't shown you yet.

If you have been to a fair, you know that one of the best parts is the food. The smell of the BBQ was amazing. I wanted to get one of these turkey legs this guy was cooking, but I couldn't get myself to spend 16 bucks on one, even though I knew it would have been delicious.

I like the kid's face in this picture because you can see the amazement and wonder as the clown is making the balloon animal.

If you saw the picture I posted of the pig with the huge balls, this is another shot of it, so you can see just how big the pig is. This pig was massive and weighs 1200 pounds. The owner said that when he breeds it, the it's babies usually end up weighing between 800-900 pounds.

Sheep are cool and they like having their heads petted, but the whole area was filled with pee and little poop pellets.

This dude's ears were gauged with the top of a soda can and it was awesome. The coolest thing about this guy is that he is all tattooed up and has piercings and stuff, so most people would discard him and think he is a bad person, but he is out hanging at the fair with either his mom or his grandma.

Some of the nicest people I have ever met in my life were covered in tattoos and the most judgemental and nasty people I know are ones that go to church every week and claim to be such great people. Utah is full of these types of people, if you are from this area or have ever been here, you know what I am talking about.

It is always cool to watch an artist in action. I have talked to this guy a few times at different events and I am a huge fan of his work. He does huge horror pieces and I almost bought one of his painting he did for Stephen King's "IT" when the movie was being released.

This was the painting he was working on. I will probably see him again this year at FearCon in the next month or so.

When the sun went down I really liked the way all the lights and colors looked against the sky. I don't normally take pictures at night, but I want to go out and do it more often. I really like the way that they turned out

It is pretty fun working with the different light sources trying to see how they will work with the frame this type of a "street photography" style. I am going to have to try it out more when my wife and I are in Vegas in a few weeks. I am going to try and do a lot more street photography while I am there and work on my night photography.

I am having a ton of fun in my documentary photo class and it is forcing me to try to frame things up in a way that every portion of my frame tells some sort of a story and makes for a more interesting overall picture. So hopefully the pictures worked and were interesting for you all to look at.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my work. I really appreciate it. If you like what I am doing, please consider a witness vote for my new team witness with @cc0ff33a. Proceeds from the witness go back towards supporting my community initiatives like this photo contest. Thank you all for everything. You are awesome.

That BBQ looks delicious. I was really into it until you said a single drumbstick costs $16. You reminded me of how pricey food always is at big events.
Great pics. Thanks for letting us see it through your eyes. That class is definitely paying off.

I don't have any tats, and there are peeps in my world that look down their noses at me :) Judgement sucks, doesn't matter who is doing it.

I'm really glad to see the front of the pig. Really glad.

I just love state fairs and looking at the people. Thanks for sharing your looks...

Gracias por compartir tus vivencias con nosotros saludos desde la isla de Gran Canaria

Nice pics, you always seem to grab the emotion of what you are posting about. I can look at your post and not even read it, yet still get it. Love the local fairs. We usually have one at the town close to me. Baking contest, tractor pull, durby... The whole nine-yards.
