Now, of course many of us would like to. But do we ever just realize how incredible it is that we are alive in a time in history where we fly over mountains?!
Today it was crystal clear skies as I flew over Washington en route to LA. I was in the most perfect spot (left window, assigned to me :) as well to see this:
That's Mt. Rainier, which at this time in the history of all of humankind can be looked down on from the height where we are flying.
Do we ever stop to think of just how wild that is?
We would do well to see a little more with the gaping-wide, awestruck eyes of a child and share in their unguarded wonder.
There is so much to be joyful and grateful about, and even gloriously overwhelmed by the beauty and greatness of.
(Dangling preposition.. I know.. cell phone typing..)
Happily settled in SoCal. Missed being on here sooner today!

Thank you! lol. So are you :)
Majestic !
It really was. The picture doesn't even begin to capture it--I'm not prone to this but.. it took my breath away. xx, Kay
I will have that same view in a couple of weeks. What a majestic land we live in. Safe travels to and fro
Wow astonishing view. thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. It really was.
SoCal too?
We need a Steemit meet up in SoCal! lol
Yes! I don't live here, but I end up here a lot. I'd love a Steemit excuse to come back..!
I had a similar "How far we have come" thought today. I sent my cousin a Facebook message who lives 13,000KM away in Oz, she literally replied in 10 seconds. Sounds quite trivial and we do it all the time. This would have easily taken two months as recent as 100 years ago!
Modern humans (like you and me) have been around for 200-300 million years and this has never been remotely possible!
It's actually incredible. Glad you share the sentiment!
