Photo Hunt Contest #10- Theme- Stones/Pebbles by the awesome @photoquest
My stones are on Schoolhouse Beach, on Wisconsin’s isolated Washington Island. The beach was named for a one-room wooden schoolhouse that used to exist nearby. The small rocks were glacier-polished over thousands of years and are geological treasures. So many were carried off that it is now illegal to remove stones from the beach.
It's a great beach if you don't want to get sand in your swimsuit!

Spectacular calm beach with smooth rocks, it looks like a river.👍💖
It is Lake Michigan. One of the fresh water Great Lakes.
That lake is beautiful. Can people go swimming?
Oh yes! My photo was taken during cold weather. The island and that entire area is so busy during the summer that I avoid going there until after holidays are done and kids are back in school. But usually there is a lot of activity there.
Did you built the cairn or did you find it on the beach ? ^_^
I prefer stones beaches as I dislike to have sand everywhere on my body...LoL but one should have good feet or good shoes to walk on stones beach ;-)
I like stone beaches, too. I fell in love with some of the beaches in Greece.
Oh, and someone else stacked the rocks, not me. I was too busy looking for photos!
I love the polished aspect of these stones...you rock miss Mel ! =D
Haha! Thanks, luv!
Thats stones are beautifil even more than pebbles
Thank you! It is a pretty beach!
We could use some river rocks/ flat stones right now for a project.
My part of the state is full of deep rich prairie soil. Not many rocks around here! Our rivers are muddy, not rocky. Good luck!

Thanks! Did your river have rocks?
Those rocks are fantastic! Gray and blue go well together. Resteemed! 😘
I always think it is interesting that they're all the same kind of rock. The same kind of limestone.
I have the habit of collecting interesting and colorful stones, rocks :)
