Spotted this monster pumpkin on my wander today.
The sign says £5 each please post money through the letter box!
Intrigued I wandered on along the path and came across this pile of pumpkins.
This is how small growers sell their produce. It's called the honour system. They trust the public to do the right thing.
I used a few filters to get the monstrous colours. This is how they look naturally below.
Have a great week ahead.
Hi @molometer! @whatisnew is sending you 0.1 SBD tip and @tipU upvote
:)
@tipU - send tips by writing tip! in the comment, get share of the profit :)That is a big pumpkin. People use the honor system there? Do they really leave money? I sure hope so. If they did that here, they would all be stolen leaving no money behind. Tip!
The stall holders leave the money on a tray so you can take your change if you need to.It's absolutely true @whatisnew people are generally trust worthy.
That is amazing to hear. And what is more amazing is what you said about leaving money on the tray to make change. I wish I lived in your honesty world!
Just takes one person to start a trend. This world is what we make it.
WOW some of them are huge, its good to know in some places the honor system can still be used
Couldn't believe the size of these pumpkins. Massive.
Yeah the honour system is quite common in this part of the countryside. Quaint and refreshing in this world to see it can survive.
yes reading that was kind of refreshing not all the world is gone to hell in a hand cart yet
how much time can you eat such a pumpkin ????? !!!!!! probably a month
Lol sounds about right. That's why they are selling their surplus. They are massive pumpkins.
Love the pumpkin season. Some wonderful displays here too!
It's becoming a 'thing' here now for some reason?
I don't know the origin of this tradition?
Halloween?
I think so. We didn't celebrate Halloween in SA, so I'm not sure how the pumpkins fit in, except they do look pretty ghostly when carved and with lights in them.
How much for the cart?
lol a buck fifty plus shipping!
That IS the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown!
It's gonna make a lot of pies ;)
