Ipoh Kek Lok Tong (Limestone cave) 极乐洞

in #photos7 years ago (edited)

There are plenty of Limestone caves in Ipoh City, Perak State Malaysia. Kek Lok Tong is one of them. Chinese name for it is 极乐洞.

洞 = Tong = Cave in Cantonese Dialect.

Address: Gunung Rapat, 31350 Ipoh, Perak.

Kek Lok Tong Limestone cave temple is with 12 acres with Buddha sculptures, a garden with a reflexology footpath and also ponds with Lotus and fishes.

The elderly would usually exercise, play taichi and jogging as early as 7 am and also in the evening.

I used to stay nearby Kek Lok Tong since 30 + years back. Every evening, i would cycle all the way to the cave to relax.
It was one of the best place i used to hang out a lot. I remember i had a tortoise and i released him into the pond. Hope he is doing well now.

When you entered the cave, you could feel the strong wind blowing with swallows flying on top sometimes.
