I hate doing updates to my computers and phones because something usually breaks. I try to avoid them at all costs but some reason I decide to do the Mojave update on my Mac.
It has been prompting me for months to do the update but I have ignored until now. I guess I finally felt like take care of that menial task, and didn’t research it, just went for it. Well that was a mistake.
First, the install/update was taking for ever. I thought I bricked it at first, but when I looked up online, I saw that others had similar long wait times updating. That put me immediately in worry mode instead of allaying my fears.
The computer finally completed its installation of to the Mojave OS for Mac but now my Photoshop is not working properly.😞😞😞

This happens, my friend and I have Windows, on which I have disabled updates altogether, because it is a lot of memory clogs! Thank you @streetstyle

I feel your pain. I upgraded my desktop from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 and now have no sound and no ability to set my screen resolution to anything but 4:3 which makes photo editing a crap shoot. If I upgrade to the latest stable version, 18.04, will this get better, or worse? I use GIMP for photo editing. It's free, and available for Mac.
I’ve heard of GIMP before, might have to learn how to use that one since I haven’t found a fix yet for photoshop since the update... well I did but I could not figure out how to launch the photoshop update via safe mode using Terminal.
I will try again later, need to brush up on linux command line😞🤷🏽♂️

Sometimes system updates come with errors and I also try not to update, I hope everything will be fine with you!

Hi I know this a 12 day old post but I thought I would share. My Mac mini needed an update several years ago. When I updated it somehow the file corrupted and it trashed the hard drive. For a long time I avoided ANY updates...... I was told by someone I can't remember who, that if you don't stay updated eventually things stop working ......or they slow down

Fortunately I have not updated nor will I update my laptop now that This happened to my iMac.... it now seems slower too😞🤔🤷🏽♂️

Maybe there is a problem in you cpu that making laptop slow thats happend with my then i change it

It is strange that your Photoshop does not work properly something happened during its update, There are risks when updating but how to know whether to do it or not
Yes but in the computer world, updates usually clash with software somewhere along the line.

What is amazing is that these so called “Software Gurus”, fly by the seat of their pants fixing and debugging the crap they built to begin with. Never Update Seek Alternate Methods!

Its always a fair when doing an upgrade that something will go wrong sorry to hear this happened to you
but the issue ma be photoshop the latest version has a lot of bugs i did the upgrade to 20.0.1 of photoshop and lots of features did not work, I found it was a problem with that version and rolled back to versio 19.somehting which is working fine so you may ant to check that out
My version of
photoshop is kinda old and not fully supported by the newer Mac OS. There is a work around without having to buy the newer photoshop version. Working on it now, keeping my fingers crossed. Fortunately PS is also on my laptop without the New Mac update, so that one at least works.

Hola amigo, @streetstyle realmente trabajar con equipos de computadora es bastante complicado, y los teléfonos aún más .. siempre cuando se realiza actualizaciónes nunca queda bien del todo. Por lo menos yo no tengo paciencia para estas cosas, y lo dejo a mi esposo me solucione.jajaja deseo logré arreglar ese problemita y continúe con photoshop
This is the most painful part when some of your daily using softwares stop working after these updates. This is the main reason I am still using Windows 7 on my laptop.
That is why I do not update my VLC media player because it might ruin its use of the DFX sound enhancer when I watch movies with it @streetstyle
I hope that you soon could fix that issue with your Photoshop but I think maybe before updating your Mac you should uninstall the apps first then install it again after the update.
