For our daily shots today, allow me to bring us back to Benguet once again. We arrived at Mount Pulag's jump-off point with our group at 1am, prepping for the long hike ahead. Darkness surrounded us, but excitement and anticipation fueled our readiness to tackle the challenging trek to the summit.
After over five hours of hiking, we finally reached the summit of Mount Pulag exhausted but relieved. The trail had been challenging with muddy and slippery paths that made every step a test of balance and endurance. The people traffic had been heavy, with many hikers making their way to the top but we had persevered, driven by our determination to reach the summit.
As we arrived at the top, we were greeted not by a clearing or a breathtaking view, but by rain and fog that covered the landscape. The cold, windy temperature was biting too but we didn't let it lowered our spirits.
Instead, we cherished the moment, taking in the experience and achievement of having made it to the top together with hundreds of other hikers. We shared stories, laughter and congratulations with our fellow climbers that were strangers to us, creating a sense of community and camaraderie that made the difficult hike worthwhile.
Despite the harsh weather conditions, we felt a deep sense of satisfaction and pride in having conquered Mount Pulag's challenging trails.
