#358 - A motorcycle riding couple and a fish vendor.
Captured these two, a couple, riding on their manual 125cc motorcycle carefree and without any helmets on..which is actually a typical scene on the provinces as there are no traffic constable to pursue them.
Got here a fish vendor unloading live tilapia fish from his custom water drum so he could keep the fish alive and fresh for delivery.
Both shots were taken in Ifugao, Philippines.
Again first time for me to see this custom made water drum attached to a side car of a tricycle. This can be very useful especially here in our place because it is a coastal city with numerous fishponds growing tilapia, bangus and hito. The usual mode of delivery is via Isuzu Elf with big styropor boxes loaded at the back. This entails a lot of investment so small time vendors cannot compete. But with this water drum small fish vendors or traders can now compete.

Yes. Truly necessity is the mother of all inventions. As you said this picture was taken in the Ifugao area so there is a need to come up with ideas on how to transport fish over the mountain area and keep them fresh. In coastal areas the need is not as urgent as in the mountains but still this can help the marginalized vendors. Perhaps a word here and there to some people who can pick up the idea can launch this. I will most definitely introduce this to them.
