Cockscomb blooms are generally called Wool Flowers or Brain Celosia, suggestive of a significantly shaded cerebrum. The sprouts have a spot with the amaranth family, Amaranthaceae. The Cockscomb bloom grows from pre-fall through pre-winter. The Celosia plant is a yearly dicotyledon.
